A new chapter in the company’s legacy began with the establishment of Sobha Furniture– unveiling their new factory in Abu Dhabi’s KEZAD and starting on a path of innovation and excellence. Sobha Furniture epitomises how the group’s backward integration strategy has helped them achieve unparalleled market success. The 7,837 sqm facility in KEZAD manages the supply chain operations and all stages of the production process – from raw material sourcing to final product assembly – producing a large portfolio of interior solutions, including doors, wall panels, wardrobes and modular kitchen cabinetry, with cost-efficiency and quality control.

REQUIREMENTS

Being a manufacturer of home interior products in the UAE, it was important for Sobha Furniture to be part of an efficient manufacturing ecosystem that provided top-notch infrastructure and competent logistics facilities, enabling swift and seamless import of raw materials and speed-to-market distribution opportunities. The company also wanted to scale operations and go to market with a strategy that would include the advantages necessary to sustainably manufacture products, and distribute them quickly and easily. In addition, they were looking to be part of an environment that not only supported doing business with ease, but also provided the infrastructure required for innovation in product design.
SOLUTION

In line with Sobha Group’s business philosophy to maintain quality control and standards, Sobha Furniture started operations by conducting all activities in-house, at their manufacturing facility. Being in KEZAD’s strategic location, that is in proximity to, and connects the trade corridors of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Sobha Group benefited in many ways. The comprehensive infrastructure provided by the integrated trade, logistics and industrial zones of KEZAD aided in production and distribution operations, helping them cater to clients’ needs seamlessly. Easy access to Khalifa Port suited their raw material imports, and policy support along with favourable business conditions helped them set up their facility with ease. Having started operations at their KEZAD facility in mid-2023, Sobha Furniture has established themselves firmly as a leading supplier of furniture solutions in the UAE. Currently catering primarily to Sobha Realty clients in Dubai, they are looking to serve the rest of the Emirates, and the greater GCC region in the near future. The current facility is equipped with state-of-the-art automated production lines that not only support the design and development of sophisticated interior solutions, but also innovation in product design. The CNC machines supplemented with CAD/CAM and 3D modelling solutions enable swift and error-free production, delivering consistent quality, at optimised cost. Sobha Furniture’s future plans include the introduction of two new manufacturing facilities (with a built-up area of over 50,000 square meters) to their operations. Leveraging KEZAD’s manufacturing and logistics infrastructure, and supported by its multimodal connectivity network that enables well-organised and smooth distribution, Sobha Furniture continues to efficiently serve the luxury furniture market.
